He holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering, from Mississippi State University.
Timothy Blackburn, Engineering Technician
Tim has 15 years of experience in various industries, including oil & gas and insurance services. He has expertise with CAD, drafting, imaging, and documentation management. He has an Associate degree, Drafting & Design, Texas State Technical College, Amarillo, TX.
Mike Brock, Project Manager
Mike has over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas production operations, working as Field Operations Supervisor, Team Leader, and Facility and production Engineer. He has specialized knowledge of artificial lift, primary, secondary and tertiary recovery, in the Permian basin, as well as gas measurement. He also has expertise in operations and project management, budget and contractor management, as well as safety and environmental. In his early career, he spent 6 years in the U.S. Air Force as a Lead/Instructor Navigator on the C-141 aircraft. He holds a B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech.
Alton Callihan, Project Manager
Alton has over 25 years of experience in oil and gas production operations, including as an Operations Center Manager (OCM) for a major production company in the Permian basin. His expertise lies in production operations management; maintenance, budget, production targets and project management; as well as HS&E standards implementation and management.
Jim Collins, P.E., Senior Project Manager
Jim has over 30 years in the oil and gas industry and in consulting. He has worked at the plant and corporate levels, domestic and international. He has expertise in production engineering, environmental engineering and regulatory affairs, process safety and integrity management. He holds a B.S., in Petroleum Engineering, from the University of Missouri School of Mines. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
Jim Curfew, Senior Technical Consultant
Jim has over 30 years of experience in the in oil & gas industry and in consulting involving production and facilities engineering throughout the U.S. including onshore and offshore as well as Alaska. He specializes in artificial lift; production, facilities and operations engineering, operations safety, failure control, emulsion treating, well servicing, corrosion control, facility design, efficiency improvement, cost control and data management. He holds a B.S., in Mechanical Engineering (Honors) from Texas Tech University, and numerous continuing education programs taken throughout his career.
Steve Deinlein, Project Manager
Steve has over 25 years of experience in oil & gas operations, consulting, property management and education. He has expertise with gas plant operations, measurements, training, safety and environmental, process safety and integrity management and operations audits. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from New Mexico State University.
Joe Dudek, CSP, CQM, CQA, Senior Project Consultant
Joe has over 25 years of experience in manufacturing, oil & gas production services and consulting. He has worked at both domestic and international levels. His expertise includes operations management, training, quality control, safety management, radiation safety, waste management, EHS and Quality auditing. He holds a A.S. in Nuclear Medicine Technology, a B.A. in Business Administration from Northeastern Illinois University. He is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), a Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), and a Certified Quality Manager (CQM).
Alex Flores, Safety Specialist
Alex is a recent graduate, and has been with Contek over 1 year involved in oil & gas operations site reviews, SWPPs, SPCC plans and other safety and environmental consulting. He has expertise in safety inspection and auditing, training program development and delivery, chemical and materials handling safety, regulatory compliance and computer science. He holds a B.S. Jack Johnstone, Senior Project Consultant
Jack has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including onshore and offshore operations, domestic and international levels. Throughout his career he has been involved in E&P engineering and management, including reservoir engineering, drilling, maintenance, remediation, logistics operations, field operations management, training, quality management, environmental and safety. He holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, Golden, CO.
Michael Leonard, Project Manager and Manager Technical Services
Mike has over 10 years of experience in the automotive industry, residential construction, consulting and oil & gas operations. He has expertise in project management, design engineering, construction management, integrity management (IM), process hazard analysis (PHA), HAZOP, IR Thermography and Optical Gas Imaging, GHG quantification and Excel application. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University in Houghton, MI. He is a Certified Infrared Thermographer Level 1 and a Certified GasFindIR Thermographer.

Jim Meyer, Ph.D., Senior Project Consultant
Jim has over 25 years of experience in the oil & gas industry and in consulting. His expertise involves engineering research development and evaluation, process start-up, data interpretation and computer modeling. He has worked at the domestic level as well as international. He has been an Adjunct Professor of Chemical Engineering at Michigan State University in Lansing, MI. Jim has also led strategic engineering studies using simulation tools e.g. HYSIM, PRO II, PIPEPHASE, AFT Fathom. He has extensive technical expertise in: environmental technologies pertinent to water issues in oil & gas production; technical and economic viability research; offshore platforms water discharge; groundwater flows in fractured systems; drilling mud studies; reservoir engineering, environmental engineering and in bioengineering; and CO2 sequestration. He holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Princeton; a M.S. in Hazardous Waste Management from Southern Methodist University, and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University.

Greg Milford, C.S.P., R.E.M., Senior Project Manager
Greg has 30 years of experience in oil & gas operations services, both on and offshore, including domestic and international work. He has worked at the business unit and corporate levels. He has been involved in consulting for the past 5 years. He has expertise in safety and environmental management, auditing, development and implementation of compliance and training programs, process safety and integrity; well cementing, completion and stimulation. He also has completed many accident investigations, developed SPCC plans, performed Phase I ESA’s as well as wetlands delineation studies. He holds a B.S. (Physical Sciences) and a B.S. (Industrial Hygiene) from the University of Central Oklahoma. He is a Certified Safety professional (CSP), a Registered Environmental Manager (REM) and a Certified Infrastructure Preparedness Specialist (CIPS).
Shannon Mitchum, CSHO, Project Manager
Shannon has over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and in the construction, remediation and custom food manufacturing industry and in consulting. Her expertise includes EHS program development, implementation, management and regulatory compliance; EHS auditing and training; PSM, HAZWOPER, HAZCOM, JSA, incident investigation and analysis; Emergency Response Plan development; and litigation consulting. She holds a B.S. in Business Management from LeTourneau University, and is currently completing a MS in Occupational Health, Safety & Environment through Columbia Southern University. She is a CSHO (Oil & Gas, and Petrochemical Industry) and CSHO (General Industry).
Bill Price, Project Consultant
Bill has 35 years of experience in oil production and maintenance operations, and has worked as an Production Optimizer for a major producer in the Arkoma area. He has expertise in production operations, integrity management, management of change (MOC), as a “person in charge” for contractors, and in various safety procedures e.g. LOTO, JSAs and the like.
Phil Reid, Senior Project Manager
Phil has over 35 years of experience in oil and gas, sulfur and plastics production operations and maintenance, construction and consulting. He has expertise in oil and& gas production operations, plant operations and management, EHS program development and implementation, PSM and integrity management, environmental, EHS auditing, ISO 14001. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration.
Al Rivera, Senior Project Manager
Al has over 30 years of experience in oil and gas production operations, construction and maintenance and consulting. He has expert knowledge in plant construction, production and maintenance supervision, project management, management of change, process safety and integrity management, testing, measurement and drafting. He also has been involved in safety and environmental projects, including site reviews, Phase I ESA’s, accident investigations and regulatory compliance auditing and analysis. He is bilingual (English/Spanish). He holds an Associate degree in Mid-Management, from Eastern New Mexico University in Roswell, NM. He has also been a member of the New Mexico National Guard as a Sergeant First Class.
Tim Sampson, Contek Representative in Washington, D.C.
Tim has worked in the public sector for several years, and more recently has spent 25 years with API, a major oil and gas industry trade association in Washington, D.C. His experience with the industry association has involved managing regulatory and legislative response for exploration and production member companies, and developing environmental and safety industry guidelines and best practices, with both onshore and offshore operations. He has expertise in government and public affairs, business development, strategic planning and project and business management. He holds a B.S. (Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering and Physics) from the University of Texas in Arlington. He has completed the U.S. Army Civil Affairs School, and post graduate studies in Management/Public Administration at the University of Texas in Arlington. Tim has also served as a U.S. Army Officer and is a Vietnam Vet.

Alvin has over 15 years in the construction industry and oil and gas production and 5 years in the consulting field. He has expertise in project management, construction cost assessment, construction management, safety, process safety and drafting, integrity management and pipeline mapping. He holds a B.S. in Engineering Technology from West Texas State University in Amarillo.
Stephen Swanson, Technical Consultant
Steve is a recent graduate engineer with experience in oil and gas drilling and engineering, pipeline gas safety inspections, pipeline incident investigation, and regulatory and engineering resources research. He has expertise in such area as CAD/drafting, safety and environmental, project management. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, MO.
Joe Thomas, CPA, Chief Financial Officer
Joe holds a BBA from Baylor University and is a CPA. He spent most of his career with ARCO until 1999, in various finance and accounting functions. Since '99, he has worked in finance, accounting and as a CFO in the retail, oil and gas, and non-profit sectors. His primary role at Contek involves managing the financial and accounting parts of our business. Joe also leads other key aspects of our business operations, including the management of our liability insurance process, contracts, employee benefits and office management.
